The Sampson Nickerson Jr. Memorial Award is given each year to a community member who has contributed time and energy to Klawock School without expecting anything in return. This award was established in 1982 in memory of Sampson Nickerson Jr, a member of the community who was especially dedicated to children and young people.
COVID-19 made leaning especially difficult during blocks of time the school provided only distance learning, relying on parents to provide instruction and monitor learning at home. In response the the numerous hours spent, the Klawock City School District awarded the Sampson Nickerson Volunteer award to the Parents. Our learning partnership with our parents is valued and appreciated. Thank you parents!
